On this page I will keep you posted as to how everything is moving along.
November-December 2009, TJs Chinchilla Supplies launched their website.
Here is it April 2010, four-five months into our opening.
I would of thought that by now business what of been better than it is. While I realize that business will not pick up "overnight", TJs has hardly any at all. We can't even
send a care package to an already established chinchilla rescue. While I do know that there are some people in the chinchilla community that will be very happy to see TJs fail,
there are many chinchillas that are hoping for success. At this point, I can just pray things will be different very soon.
May 2010
This past month has been quite different from all the others. While business is far from booming [and I don't expect it to be at this point], I can not complain. I had to
change some prices because I was taking a loss, if you are wondering why they changed, that is why; and I still have to make some changes. Sorry everyone!
[I sure didn't go to business school. ] I won't be able to help out rescues if I do not make some more changes. I am definately learning as I go. I can not wait for the day
that everything is in its place. I'm thinking about adding some more package deals, but this time, ones with a variety of items.
If you are reading this, please let me know what you think about that.
Something I have been pondering is sending some care packages out to rescues. It will take quite a long time to save enough to open my own rescue, so in the meantime
I would love to help out other rescues. I'm am asking my customers to let me know what you think of that? Or do you think I should save, save, save until
I can open my own rescue. You folks will determine the answer to that question. Also, if you all vote to help out other rescues, you can also suggest places to
send pacakges too!
I want to thank everyone for their support and understanding as I am learning as I proceed.
June 2010
We had another slow month. After last month I was hoping to be able to send a care package out soon, but I guess I was too optimistic.
We only had one person suggest some rescues to send packages to, and to be honest, I lost the email. If you are reading this I do apologize and please send me those
names again.
July 2010
TJs had an average of about 3-4 orders per week. We still have a long way to go before we can send out any care packages - even small ones. Unfortunately, no one else
has donated any toys. I do know for a fact that Finally Home is in dire need for items, as I'm sure they all are. I am aware times are very tough these days, but if you can
spare just a few extra dollars, I'm sure just a toss toy would be greatly appreciated. Remember, no toy or item is too small, they are all part of a bigger package and helps
many chinchillas in need.
While TJs does not have the funds to donate yet, I, personally, am going to donate a toy, with hopes others will follow along. I am choosing Finally Home to donate my first
toy too because Marne, the owner, has been wonderful to me. Whenever I need help with anything, Marne is always there. When I have doubts about something
on my site, I turn to Marne for her wealth of knowledge so I can keep my site safe. Thank you Marne for all the help and knowledge you have given to me.
August 2010
Another quick month has passed. Time needs to slow down a bit. Business last month has stayed about them; I guess that is good thing, it couldn't of been quieter.
We had some people that wanted to donate somes and they are listed on the "Donation" page. I want to say thank you very much for their donations! If anyone is
interested in personally sending out a care package to one of the rescues on my site, send me an email and I will let everyone know the good news.
